Description: Growing up in a house where everybody had creative hobbies, John Arnold has always enjoyed making things with his hands. A part time knifemaker and architect by profession, John Arnold finds both joy and satisfaction in designing and constructing well balanced, well proportioned and beautiful knives. The Knifemakers Guild of South Africa recognized John's skill and accepted him as a member in September 2006.
The 12c27 wharncliffe blade was brought to a meticulous mirror polish. A single thumbstud and John's makers mark grace the left side of the blade. The blade has silky smooth action and is well centered.
Crescents of exhibition grade mother of pearl are the centerpiece of this knife. The luminous opalescence of the pearl shimmers like soft, ethereal clouds. Arcs of stainless steel were meticulously hand engraved in a floral vine pattern by Julien Marchal. Belgium-born artist Julien Marchal studied engraving and gun making at Léon Mignon Liège in Belgium and now lives in South Africa. Titanium liners are jewel polished on the interior and anodized to a light blue tone. They were hand fileworked along the spine in a vine pattern. Exquisite attention to detail has been paid throughout this knife, with the fit and finish exceptional.
