Description: Journeyman Smith Bruce Barnett makes an incredible working hunter. His shapes are well thought through, and clearly show the evidence of a maker who has used knives for years before starting to make them. He has worked with some of the great American makers including Mastersmith Bill Burke, and has clearly paid attention.
This drop point hunter features a 4.25 inch D2 semi stainless blade. D2 is exceptionally tough and hold a great edge. A distal taper to both blade and full tang ensures excellent balance.
The handle scales are formed from curly jarrah wood. This Australian wood is very hard and heavy with high durability and resistance to decay. It is harvested in forests south of Perth, Bruce's home. 416 stainless steel pins set the scales in place. The knife is accompanied by a hand-stitched black cape buffalo leather sheath. A simple yet elegant and very comfortable knife intended for serious use. Excellent work throughout.
