Description: Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of knifemaking talent in his country. Bruce's attention to detail and fine design aesthetic is clearly apparent in this elegant gentleman's folder.
The blade is Bruce's own hand-forged damascus -- a pattern that he calls Starburst. The angles and complexity of the pattern are immediately captivating. The "explosions" and designs are mesmerizing! This folder features a wharncliffe blade. The straight edge and detail-oriented tip would make it a great use knife -- though it will certainly feel at home in any collection.
Mammoth ivory scales fit perfectly to 416 stainless steel bolsters. The ancient ivory bark has a beautiful pattern of caramel and cream tones. Darker striations run through the scales, reminiscent of a dry cracked earthly origin. The blade has smooth action with a firm half stop. Bruce chose A2 steel for the back spring. Excellent work throughout.
