Description: This dramatic Bowie was made by Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson. The long clip point blade has a fascinating and well developed ladder pattern and immediately captivates attention. 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels were combined into 492 welds.
The oval guard is fileworked on the sides. The curly maple handle was created from a single piece of curly maple and features matching vine and scalloped detail work in fine silver inlay each side. The large, downturned handle feels extremely comfortable in the hand. It culminates in a nickel silver butt plate.
The sheath is very sturdy. It is formed from basswood and covered with leather. The sheath is embellished with a stainless steel "man in the moon" and has a laced leather throat.
Exceptional work throughout!
