Description: Steven Rapp has been a custom knifemaker for almost 30 years now, and a full-time knife maker for the last 16 years. Steven's knives are extremely collectible and he only makes 10-20 knives a year -- with almost a two year wait. Steven is well known for his ability to reproduce antique knives with authenticity, as well as make unique knives of his design.
This knife, which was made in the 1980s, is in mint condition. It does not appear to ever have been used to cut and by all appearances it could have been made yesterday.
This knife is a smaller version of Cody's Fighter, a knife Steven created and named after his eldest son. A formidable piece at just under 14 inches overall, the blade alone is nearing 8 inches, and the prominent pommel and hilt really make this knife grab your attention.
The blade is made from 440C stainless steel, and is meticulously mirror polished. A dramatic recurve and sharpened swedge lend to the overall impression, while the angular 416 stainless steel hilt and pommel finish the look. The handle is of DymondWood, and two separate pieces are carved with finger grooves, adding to the appearance and the grip as well. Four brass and black fiber spacers add contrast and assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
A very aggressive, yet classy piece with a fantasy twist. It is very rare to find Rapp's work available!
