Description: This is a striking piece! A gorgeous upswept dagger, with a two-tone mirror polished and satin blade. The handle is formed from a black impala horn, with just the right curvature to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand. The pommel sports intricate, delicate metalwork setting a large, smooth oval of mammoth ivory.
This dagger was created by Patrick Donovan, who is now deceased. Patrick created it back in 1989 and is quite a find! It has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The flat of the blade is marked with Donovan's mark, Patrick, set in cursive, his traditional signature. The grinds are mirror polished, while the flats are satin finished. The swedge has been fully sharpened. The hilt is also highly polished, and where the guard meets the exposed tang, the opening is scalloped. The piece has a fantasy, yet refined, feel to it. A very unique item -- made to be functional -- yet at home in most any collection!
