Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kikuo Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. His father runs a small workshop in Seki, grinding blades for production knife makers. Kiku joined his father's business at the age of 15 and learned grinding technique from his father. Kiku's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
The Warabite Tanto is Kikuo's homage to the traditional Japanese tanto. It does not fall short of its namesake. The expertly balanced 7-1/2 inch blade is ground in Hamaguri-ba (convex) style from Kiku's favorite steel, OU-31 semi-stainless. It features his distinctive disruptive acid finish. A paracord wrapped handle and carved thumb notches on the spine provide a sure, comfortable grip. An all-around excellent choice as a stand-alone blade for extended ventures into unknown territory where every piece of your kit must be absolutely dependable!
Accompanied by a Kydex sheath.
