Description: Renowned Swedish bladesmith Johan Gustafsson has spent years developing a complex heat coloring technique to bring out colors rarely, if ever, found in other makers' work. Dramatic is the only word that comes to mind to describe this folder from Johan Gustafsson.
Johan Gustafsson is famed for creating some of the most detailed damascus found anywhere -- and this is an exceptional example of his work. The blade is heat colored to spectacular purples, greens, and golds. It was forged to shape from pictorial mosaic damascus and features wooly mammoths forged directly into the damascus. Amber, green, and silver bands travel along the edge and lead the eye through the sweeping curve of the handle. Filework graces the spine and a ruby inlaid thumb stud finishes the blade.
The silvertwill handle features an inlay of Johan's spirograph pattern mosaic damascus -- creating a striking juxtaposition against the vivid colors of the blade. The silvertwill scales sit on fully fileworked and anodized titanium liners. Red fiber spacers handsomely accent the handle. Full damascus backbar. Gold plated screws finish out the presentation. A screw on the interior allows the stop point to be adjusted. The knife is accompanied by a stingray hide pouch. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
