Description: Journeyman Smith Dan Hockensmith creates an exceptional knife. He began by forging the blade from a pattern he calls "lazy river" pattern. This complex blade combines three separate bars of steel to create the gently undulating pattern. The well centered blade is easily opened using the right-handed "W's" pattern damascus thumb stud. Detailed file working on the spine rounds out the blade and provides a secure thumb purchase.
Caramel tones predominate the 20,000-40,000 year old mammoth ivory scales. Hints of the outer bark combine with the caramel and burnt cream hues. Random pattern damascus bolsters are precisely dovetailed to the mammoth ivory scales for a perfect fit. Titanium liners surround the domed, fileworked backbar. Exceptional work throughout with smooth action!
