Description: A substantial blade with clear, well-etched Damascus steel defines this bowie. The curly maple handle is sculpted to fit comfortably into the hand. This type of maple is also used for violin backs and is renowned for its beautiful grain which diffracts light and give the illusion that the stripes in the grain are moving. The blued guard is a work of art in itself. The ends are shaped to very sharp points. I have enjoyed Bob's work since he and I went to bladesmithing college together at the ABS School in Arkansas. This is among the most spectacular of his work that I have seen to date.
