Description: South African knifemaker Andre creates an amazing folder -- and at a price that could never be found from an American handmade knife.
The powdered metallurgical (PM) stainless steel blade has an heirloom quality satin finish. The steel and Andre's exceptional heat treatment ensure a keen, long lasting edge. The flipper style opening is a perfect combination with the Ikoma Korth Bearing System (IKBS) ball bearing system. The IKBS pivot system was originally designed to fit balisong knives and uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with virtually no blade play. The blade easily flicks open with silky-smooth action.
The frame, including bolsters, is milled from a solid piece of titanium, ensuring lightness, strength and durability. Very rare lightning strike carbon fiber scales rest on bead blasted frame, keeping this knife light and fast. Copper strands move through the carbon fiber weave. This type of carbon fiber was originally designed for use on fighter jets to redirect electricity. Lightning strike carbon fiber is among the hardest to find knifemaking materials. The knife is easily kept close at hand with the anodized, machined titanium pocket clip mounted for tip-up carry. Exceptional work throughout!
