Description: Fred Ott creates knives that are tremendously unique and engaging. Bohane Shkelp is a particularly dramatic example of his work.
The blade is a random pattern damascus that he forged from O1, 15N20 and 1080 carbon steels. It is a nice mix of fine and bold patterns.
The tamarind wood handle combines blond tones with dark grain for a very dramatic appearance. An antiqued, pierced copper ferrule brings in warmth. Both the guard and finial pin are formed from Fred's own damascus. Showing a tremendous degree of craftsmanship, this knife is made with take-down construction. By loosening the finial pin, the knife can be disassembled for maintenance.
The knife is accompanied by basswood sheath wrapped in goat skin. Tremendous fit and finish throughout!
