Description: Don Hanson is well known for his precision folders and fixed blades. In recent years he has created increasingly more slip joint folders -- a knife that has captivated many collectors and makers. This folder has exceptional precision and shows his skill at implementation at its best.
The carbon steel blade is forged from Hanson's preferred carbon steel: W2. This steel will take and hold a keen edge. The blade is easily opened using the right-handed thumb nick. It has smooth action and a 1/2 stop. The left ricasso features Don's Sunfish mark. The stamp was originally designed by his wife in the mid-1990s when he started making traditional patterned folders. The idea for his stamp, as well as the namesake of his forge, was coined from the popularity of his first slip joint pattern, the sunfish.
Jigged bone scales and nickel silver bolsters comprise the well formed handle. It is phenomenally comfortable held in any position. Brass liners and lanyard tubes complete the knife. Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
