Description: South African knifemaker André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder at an amazingly low price. The blade is perfectly centered and silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand using the discreet and ambidextrous front flipper toggle. It features a unique opening system Andre developed called a roll opening. This modification on a flipper is tremendously easy to use and does not catch when stored in the pocket. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
The drop point, recurve N690 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. The increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The scales combine polished orange and black G10 in a finely fitted inlay. Rather than using two separate pieces end-butted together, Andre created the orange G10 handle and inlaid black G10 into the bolster section. This results in very strong construction! The handle is completed with blue anodized titanium liners and a titanium pocket clip mounted for tip-up carry. Exceptional fit throughout.
