Description: This dramatic dagger shows the influence of Jim Luman, Mike Ball's teacher in forging.
The damascus blade is a 35 layer twist pattern. By hollow grinding, Mike reveals hidden stars in the pattern. Matching damascus was used for the quillion guard and pointed pommel. The handle is formed from a solid fluted section of stabilize spalted maple. The wood has dramatic spalting lines moving through the convoluted figure. Spacers formed from malachite/azurite add contrast.
The knife is accompanied by a cherry wood sheath with a unique spring lock. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
