Description: Journeyman Smith Bruce Bingenheimer makes an exceptional hunting knife. This utilitarian blade is designed to cope with rigorous use but has an elegance to the design that makes it feel at home in just about any collection.
This hunter takes its name from Bruce's forge in Spring Creek, a town in northeastern Nevada. The hand satin-finished blade was forged to shape from 1084 carbon steel and has been completed with a differential heat treatment and triple temper. This guarantees a strong blade, with a soft, supportive spine and a keen, long lasting edge.
The walnut burl handle scales were stabilized and will hold up well to the formidable demands of field use. Three stainless steel pins hold the wood in place. Bruce has developed a tremendously ergonomic handle design - the forefinger rests securely in the choil while the remaining fingers curl comfortably around the perfectly contoured wood. The excellent heft and balance are ensured by the blade and full tang's distal taper.
Accompanied by hand stitched cowhide sheath. Exceptional work throughout!
