Description: Swedish knifemaker Roger Bergh created the knife which many of us now think of as the Swedish Hunter. This exquisite example of his work has been in a single private collection since it was made by Roger back in 2001. It has never been used to cut and has not been sharpened since Roger made it. By all appearances, Roger could have made it yesterday.
Roger began by forging the dramatic damascus blade. A central bar of lattice mosaic damascus is surrounded by an explosion pattern spine and a 20C carbon steel cutting edge.
Roger's work on his handles has always set him apart -- his ability to find rare and exciting materials continues to draw my attention. Very rare green toned mammoth ivory scales form the handle. An ebony frame encloses the tang and forms textured spacers. Mosaic damascus 'bolsters' bring the weight toward the front of the handle. The handle is completed with an ancient walrus ivory end cap.
The knife is accompanied by a traditional Swedish hand tooled leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
