Description: Journeyman Smith Aaron Wilburn makes an incredible knife and this is, in my opinion, his best knife to date. The long clip point blade is perfectly balanced. The visual impact of the gently undulating damascus nice nicely offset by damascus and wrought iron fittings, along with the jet black ebony handle. It is, quite simply, exceptional!
The laddered damascus blade combines 52100 1084, and 15N20 carbon steels into a dramatic and immediately captivating blade. The long slip is brought just shy of a fully sharpened edge.
The S-guard is formed from antique wrought iron from a wagon wheel that came out west on the Oregon Trail. It was sitting in the yard of a farm in Redding. The owner told Aaron that her family came out west in the wagon that the wheel came from. About 80 years ago, her Grand Dad moved it from Eastern Oregon to Redding. The wrought iron is textured and blued.
Damascus fittings surround the jet black ebony handle. The handle is expertly contoured for a sturdy grip in the hand. This is a knife you won't want to put down.
The knife is accompanied by a leather sheath formed from premium veg-tanned leather and American alligator leather by Wickett & Craig. Excellent fit and finish throughout!
