Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kiku Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. His father runs a small workshop in Seki, grinding blades for production knife makers. Kiku joined his father's business at the age of 15 and learned grinding technique from his father. Kiku's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
The Kiku Nagi is a compact hunter/utility knife that is sized for minimalist fans. The Hamaguri-ba (convex) blade is swedged and features a choil just in front of the drop-guard. The handle is secure and comfortable in the hand in a variety of grip styles. The pommel has been tapped to attach a lanyard for added security.
