Description: Canadian knifemaker Alain Desaulniers' work is meticulously performed. Alain has had the opportunity to work with renowned knifemaker John Young, who in turn worked under Steve Johnson. The influence of both Young, Johnson, and Bob Loveless is clearly visible in Desaulniers' work. This, matched with his attention to detail, makes for an exceptional knife. This Fighter is based on Bob Loveless' famous Sub Hilt design.
The stainless steel blade was hollow ground to accentuate the dramatic grind lines. The swedge is not sharpened. The sub-hilt guard is formed from 416 stainless steel and nicely offsets warm toned ironwood scales. Large stainless rivets and a lanyard hole complete the handle. Full tang construction ensures durability and strength. A distal taper to both blade and tang result in perfect balance. The handle has been nicely shaped for a very comfortable, secure grip. Exceptional work throughout.
