Description: Canadian knifemaker Alain Desaulniers's work is meticulously performed. Alain had the opportunity to work with renowned knifemaker John Young, who in turn worked under Steve Johnson. The influence of both Young and Johnson is clearly visible in Desaulniers's work. This, matched with his attention to detail, makes for an exceptional knife.
This 5 inch dagger ground blade is made from ATS-34 stainless steel, which offers superior rust resistance as well as edge retention. It is hollow ground to accentuate the dramatic grind lines. Both side of the blade are fully sharpened. The blade is brought to a meticulous mirror polish.
Ironwood scales sit on a full tang for strength and durability. A distal taper to both blade and tang results in perfect balance. Red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. A mirror polished stainless steel guard separates the scales from the blade. A hole is drilled in case a lanyard setup is wanted.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
