Description: Canadian knifemaker Alain Desaulniers' work is meticulously performed. Alain has had the opportunity to work with renowned knifemaker John Young, who in turn worked under Steve Johnson. The influence of Young, Johnson, and Bob Loveless is clearly visible in Desaulniers' work. This, matched with his attention to detail, makes for an exceptional knife. This Big Bear Fighter is based on Bob Loveless' famous design.
The stainless steel blade is hollow ground to accentuate the clean dramatic grind lines. The long swedge is unsharpened. The sub hilt guard is formed from 416 stainless steel and nicely offsets the black Micarta scales. Large stainless rivets and a lanyard hole complete the handle. The full tang construction ensures strength and durability. A distal taper to both blade and tang results in perfect balance. The handle has been nicely shaped for a very comfortable, secure grip.
This Big Bear Sub-Hilt is accompanied by a hand-stitched brown leather sheath. Exceptional work throughout!
