Description: Dave Loukides began making knives in 2001. He brought many skills from his 30 year occupation as a machinist. Dave is now a full time knife maker and was awarded Journeyman Smith at the 2011 Atlanta Blade Show. It has been a pleasure watching Dave move up in the ranks of knife makers and we look forward to seeing what he has for us in the future.
This utility knife is a perfect choice for detail tasks in the kitchen. It is a good middle ground between a slicing knife and a paring knife and is a good choice when slicing tomatoes or chopping garlic. The slender blade combines control and precision.
Dave Loukides began this knife by forging the 1084 carbon steel to shape. This ensures optimal grain structure and a keen, long lasting edge. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered for a perfect balance. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality.
The Honduran rosewood handle is set on a distal tapered full tang. Black G10 spacers assist the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Brass rivets complete the handle. Excellent work throughout!
