Description: This is a very rare Mick Strider custom knife.
Mick is one of the owners of Strider Knives. Strider Knives is an American owned and operated company currently making several models specifically for units of the US Military in the Global War on Terror, each with its own NSN. National Stock Number for the Strider SMF (officially - Knife, Folding, Special Mission) is 1095-01-531-5015. The SMF was specifically developed for Det 1, the first SOCOM unit of the United States Marine Corps. It was also the first tactical knife to be issued within the USMC. The simplified construction gives the knife a lightweight format without sacrificing strength. The history, features, and hard-use nature of the SMF have made it the icon it is today.
Mick ground the blade from S35VN stainless steel. An aggressive, hollow ground swedge forms an asymmetrical dagger-grind that retains the penetrating properties of a dagger, without the illegality. Both the lock-side and the non-locking side are constructed from rigid titanium and feature an open-frame construction with four stand-offs. This open-frame construction increases ease-of-maintenance and tends to keep debris from being trapped in the handle. The entire piece has been matte finished with an ultra hard-wearing Cerakote finish.
An outstanding example of custom American ingenuity, design, and craftsmanship.
