Description: South African knifemaker Andre van Heerden creates an amazing folder. This folder is among my favorite patterns and combinations of materials.
The drop point blade has silky-smooth action and is perfectly centered. The mosaic Damascus used throughout the knife was forged by Ettoré Gianferarri, ensuring that the patterns will be unique and different from those generally found on the American market. Both the blade and bolsters are extremely complex and immediately grab attention. They show Ettoré's control over steel at its best.
Presentation grade mammoth ivory scales combine caramel, blue, green, gray and cream tones. The colors found in mammoth ivory are a result of minerals close to the ivory under the ground. This range of colors is particularly dramatic, extremely rare, and nicely complement the damascus. The scales are nicely dovetailed to the bolsters for a perfect fit. Titanium liners have been anodized and surround the stainless steel backbar.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
