Description: Strider Knives is an American owned and operated company, whose goal is the evolution of Problem Solving Tools. Around the globe, people stake their lives on Strider's edged tools. Because of this, no expense is spared when designing and manufacturing their products. Using only the finest materials and latest technology, Strider Knives continues to set the pace in cutting geometry, function and durability.
The karambit is originally from the Indonesian archipelago and has found its way throughout South East Asia. Primarily used in the ancient world as a do-it-all knife, modern renditions of this versatile tool have steadily gained popularity and respect within the tactical world. The dramatic shape, finger hole and exotic manipulation has captivated collectors, martial blade practitioners, and knife enthusiasts alike.
This particular design of the Karambit was brought to America and presented to Strider Knives Inc. by Steve Tarani - a student of edged weapons since 1979. Receiving his instructorship in Lembang Jawa Barat (West Java, Indonesia) in July of 1996, he continued his studies directly under his masters to achieve the rank of Jagabaya - innermost guard of the Pendekar (Silat Guru), specializing in the Karambit.
The PS Karambit keeps with traditional karambit design in a modern materials package. The S35VN stainless steel blade features sharp edges on the inner and outer portions of the blade. The back blade features an aggressively toothed portion to tear up exterior tissue to allow the primary edge to cut into deep tissue. The safety ring is very unobtrusive, and comfortable in extended and retracted positions. The kydex sheath features a nylon IWB belt loop for discreet carry. A modern masterpiece of tradition, materials and martial design!
