Description: Bowies of this magnitude are very rare to find. The damascus blade is highly detailed and shows tremendous control. Bold and subtle patterns combine into a blade that both grabs attention from a distance and holds it upon closer examination. The long clip leads into a hand engraved spine. The guard and pommel were forged from wrought iron recovered from a mid 1800s wagon wheel. A ferrule is hand engraved in knotwork. The sambar stag crown handle is exceptional -- I have never seen a better piece. It is perfectly shaped for a comfortable, secure grip. Sambar of any quality is becoming increasingly difficult to find. The crown is completed with an engraved pommel and wrought iron disc.
