Description: The Mk40 (Aviation) is designed specifically for pilot/crew to egress from military fixed or rotor wing aircraft in the event of an emergency landing.
The Parkerized manganese phosphate finish (MIL-STD 171) provides rust resistance with a sturdy non-reflective finish. A 25 degree edge bevel ensures a strong and durable cutting edge. The Mk40 is equipped with features that will allow the aircrew to cut, punch and chop through aircraft aluminum, aviation Plexiglas, electrical cord and sheet metal. A combo edge combines serrations with a straight cutting edge -- the best of both worlds. The double hilt steel guard protects fingers while in use. The pommel is formed from case hardened steel and features a conical glass breaker, lanyard hole & lock pin. The hidden tang handle combines stacked leather with G10 and is electrically insulated. The Mk40 is shock proof, water proof, field tested and service ready. This knife comes with a Lifetime Warranty and extended service. Accompanied by tactical leather sheath.
