Description: When Swedish knifemaker Jonny Walker Nilsson told me about a friend of his that is making exceptional Swedish knives, I immediately paid attention.
The blade was forged by renowned bladesmiths Mattias Styrefors and Jonny Walker Nilsson. The san mai style blade features a 20C carbon steel central core. The outer layers are a complex, deeply etched mosaic damascus with dinosaur tiles. The detailed tiles include mastodon, triceratops, pterodactyl and more.
The stacked handle combines ancient mammoth and walrus ivory with spalted birch wood. The mammoth ivory surrounds the birch, which in turn is inlaid with an oval section of cross-cut walrus ivory. The left side is inlaid the damascus depicting a dinosaur.
The knife is accompanied by a wood lined, tooled leather traditional Swedish sheath. It has been inlaid with mammoth ivory a mosaic damascus disc. Exceptional work throughout!
