Description: This exceptional hand utility knife is the creation of California artist Don Carlos Andrade. This is a medium sized utility knife with a 5 inch blade in a series of 'happy fish' knives. The influence of Tai Goo, Don Carlos Andrade's mentor is clearly visible in this knife.
The antiqued blade was forged to shape from 1095 carbon steel. Don forges closely to shape and uses a draw file for final shaping rather than a grinder. Though this takes a lot of time, the results are unique and exceptional. The flats are forge-scale finished, while the bevels and spine are hand satin finished.
The handle scales are formed from ebony toned Dymondwood. The scales are set with domed bronze pins. Hand carving ensures a secure grip and provides an elegant appearance. This is a knife that you won't want to put down. Exceptional work throughout.
