Description: The Natchez style Bowie is named after Natchez, Mississippi, where James Bowie is said to have had a bloody fight in 1827. A famous McKinney and Hall lithograph shows a Bowie of this style being carried by the Cherokee Chief Tah-Chee.
Bladesmith Peter Bromley specializes in historical recreations. His work is both creative and historically accurate. A differential heat treatment ensures a hard edge that will stay sharp under heavy use with a softer spine that will be supportive and sturdy. Nickel silver fittings include bolsters, pins, escutcheon, and wrap-around pommel. The jet black ebony wood nicely contrasts the fittings. The full tang has been hand fileworked. The knife is accompanied by a frontier style hand sewn leather sheath. Nice work throughout on a knife that is very true to tradition!
