Description: Bladesmith Peter Bromley is well known for creating replicas that capture the spirit of the original work and yet add to it. His attention to detail is spectacular. This knife is based on a George Woodhead Bowie made in approximately 1840. Woodhouse was a well known Sheffield knifemaker and his design is exceptional.
The blade is forged from 1070 carbon steel. It is satin finished and antiqued. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered. Stag scales are set with nickel silver escutcheon on each side. The rear bolsters are cast from nickel silver and very true to the style.
The knife is accompanied by a leather belt sheath with antiqued nickel silver fittings. This exceptional find is very true to the 1840s original! Excellent work throughout.
