Description: Mike Ball is a protégé of Jim Luman, renowned knifemaker and damascus maker. His designs are well thought out and feel excellent in the hand.
The blade has a tremendously complex damascus pattern. Bold ribbons travel across the complex background -- making the blade grab attention from a distance and keep it upon closer examination.
The bubinga handle, which swells gently at the palm, is nicely formed for a comfortable, secure grip. Each side of the handle is inlaid with a 1944 wheat penny, making for a great story starter. A mammoth ivory spacer is set at the front of the handle. Copper spacers nicely bring out warm tones in the bubinga wood. Twist pattern damascus fittings surround the nicely sculpted wood. Nice work throughout!
