Description: André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder at an amazingly low price. This knife has a great feel in the hand and will have exceptional edge holding. This stunning flipper will make a stunning use knife or become the jewel in any collection! It is among Andre Thorburn's most captivating and accomplished knives to date.
The clip point blade and scales are formed from Mike Norris' stainless damascus. This layered steel has excellent edge holding and an intriguing pattern. The blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The interframe handle inlays Norris' damascus with carbon fiber. By inlaying the carbon fiber, rather than using three separate pieces butted together, Andre made an extremely strong and durable knife. This technique, however, requires exceptional skill and attention to detail and it has been accomplished most masterfully. The carbon fiber rests on red fiber spacers, giving a dramatic flash of contrast. Titanium scales keep the knife remarkably light.
The clip point blade is well centered and has silky-smooth action. A flipper style opening is a perfect combination with the IKBS ball bearing pivot system, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives. Ball bearings create exceptional action with virtually no blade play. The blade is easily opened using the flipper mechanism or with a simple flick of the wrist.
Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
