Description: Knives by National Living Treasure Jerry Fisk are quite hard to obtain, considering his substantial wait list. This piece was made in 2007 and has been well cared for in a private collection. It is in new condition.
The Game Master Hunter is a heavy duty use knife, heavier than Jerry's Sendero Hunters. He only makes three Game Master hunters per year.
The drop point blade is forged from 1084 carbon steel. A differential heat treatment line is clearly visible along the blade - this ensures a hard, durable cutting edge and a softer, more supportive spine. A distal taper and pronounced swedge give this piece excellent balance. A hand-rubbed satin finish emphasizes the cleanliness and elegance of the blade profile and grind lines. Jimping on the spine ensures a secure thumb rest. The left ricasso features Jerry's M.S stamp and FISK maker's mark.
The guard is formed from 416 stainless steel, textured on the front face. The handle is formed from presentation grade American walnut, a durable, hard, open-grained hardwood prized for its luster and chatoyancy. Two stainless steel rivets complete the piece. Jerry has engineered the handle design of this piece with a more significant drop down in the back. A handle that has drop in it has more power - allowing more leverage for heavier tasks. The handle swells to fill the hand comfortably and rests in the palm lightly for effortless maneuverability. This is the knife that you would want to pack on those big game hunting trips. It looks good and works as good as it looks!
