Description: Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of knifemaking talent in his country. Bruce was honored as an ABS journeyman smith in June 2011.
The classic slip joint folder is given an elegant new lease on life in this knife by Bruce. The ladder pattern damascus blade has a dramatic high contrast pattern - it looks great from a distance, yet reveals further intricacies upon closer examination. A distal taper brings the weight back into the handle and a thumb ramp ensures a comfortable grip for effortless use. A nail nick in the blade ensures ease of opening.
The handle scales are formed from warm medium brown bark mammoth ivory. The natural texture of the outer section of the mammoth tusk is immediately captivating. The scales are perfectly fit to brushed 416 stainless steel bolsters and set on matching liners, a A2 stainless steel backbar complementing the handle well. Four hammer finished pins complete the handle, matching the texture of the mammoth ivory bark well. Great work from an up-and-coming maker!
