Description: Andre van Heerden has once again designed and created a stunning folding knife! The blade and bolsters are formed from two different types of damascus. The blade is a complex damascus forged from carbon steels by renowned South African bladesmith Ettoré Gianferarri. The bolsters are a fascinating mosaic with many tiny pictures - within the metal it is easy to spot spiders, stars, faces and lightning bolts! The blade has been hollow ground with a graceful curved grind line. The drop point blade is well centered and has a beautifully smooth action. The blade is completed with a right-handed thumb stud.
The bolsters have been meticulously dovetailed to very rare lightning strike carbon fiber scales. Copper strands move through a carbon fiber weave. This type of carbon fiber was originally designed for use on fighter jets to redirect electricity. Lightening strike carbon fiber is among the hardest to find knifemaking materials. The color and pattern of the carbon fiber compliments the damascus well. Scales and bolsters rest on bronze anodized titanium liners. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
