Description: I have long been a fan of Roger Bergh's work. His control over Damascus and his skill at combining exotic materials set him apart as an artist. It is with great pleasure that I can present one of the true masterpieces created by Roger along with his son Isak Bergh. This knife has been in a private collection and is in new condition.
The blade is a multi-bar composite. The explosion pattern edge is forged from 15N20 and 20C carbon steel. The spine bar is a tight twist pattern. A central nickel bar separates the two bars of damascus. The blade has been sculpted to an elegant, organic shape.
The handle combines cocobolo with warthog tusk. The tusk has been carved in art nouveau style into a Viking prince. The face has tremendous lifelike personality, with a natural appearance and long flowing hair. Surprisingly for such a heavily sculpted knife, the handle is extremely comfortable and fits perfectly into the hand. The price was carved by Roger's son, Isak Bergh. Unfortunately, Isak rarely has time these days for these collaborations which are among Roger's most desirable work. As you would expect, the fit and finish are exceptional and the impact tremendous.
The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled traditional Swedish leather sheath.
