Description: This fantasy reliquary is Tom Sterling's work at its best!
The tiny bluegill dagger was created by combining 1080 carbon steel with 416 stainless steel. The 'knapped steel' blade is carved, textured, and antiqued to resemble knapped stone. The gills were meticulously carved and appear to be moving through water. The sides of the fish are formed from 416 stainless steel and have an iridescent sheen appropriate to the scales. The scales and face have been hand engraved with lifelike precision.
The bluegill dagger is accompanied by the reliquary case. The case combines ziricote wood, stainless steel, 24k gold, and fossil ivory pins. The Zircote wood is carved to perfectly store the bluegill dagger and antiqued copper stand. Fossil ivory pins keep the case closed. The top of the case is set with a stainless steel plate. This has been meticulously engraved, depicting a worm set on a fishing hook. The hook is inlaid in 24k gold. Exceptional!
Box dimensions = 2.75 x 1.75 x 0.75
