Description: Erik Fritz, who was honored as a journeyman smith in June 2009 makes knives that have a classic look and feel. This is coupled with his outstanding eye for uniquely detailed materials. Blackwood Hunter is a perfect example of his work.
The 52100 carbon steel blade was forged to shape and is meticulously hand satin finished. Erik has had the opportunity to work in Mastersmith Bill Burke's forge, and Bill's influence is clearly visible in the choice of steel and heat treating technique. By triple quenching and triple tempering the steel, Erik ensures a keen, high performance, long lasting edge. The 416 stainless steel guard nicely contrast the dark toned African blackwood handle. Excellent fit and finish throughout. The knife is accompanied by a custom leather sheath by Glen Simenson.
