Description: Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of knifemaking talent in the country. Bruce's attention to detail and fine design aesthetic is clearly apparent in this elegant gentleman's folder.
The blade is Bruce's own hand-forged damascus -- a pattern that he calls Geometric Progression. The radialed, delicate angles of the pattern are immediately captivating. This folder features a wharncliffe blade that nicely shows off the pattern. The straight edge and detail-oriented tip would make it a great use knife.
Mammoth ivory scales fit perfectly to both the beautifully etched bolsters and the liners, which are formed from D2 spring steel. The ivory itself has a dramatic pattern of bold, dark lines on a cream toned background, set off with an escutcheon on the left side. The blade has smooth action with a firm half stop. It is perfectly centered. Excellent work throughout.
