Description: This hunting knife is the creation of Bladesmith Bill Amoureux. The blade is 5160 carbon steel has an elegant distal taper to both the blade and tang, resulting in an optimal balance. The spine has been fileworked for a sure thumb purchase. By differentially heat treating the blade, Bill created a soft, supportive spine with a hard, keen edge. The result is a knife that has a superior long lasting edge. Ziricote scales sit on the distal tapered tang. Ziricote is the most dramatic member of the Cordia genus, which grows throughout Central and tropical South America. It is a great mix of medium and dark tones. Red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. It is nicely sculpted for a comfortable hand hold. Excellent work throughout. A great size for detail work. Accompanied by pouch style leather sheath.
