Description: Raymond Richard's Rustic Traveller wouldn't be out of place by the side of an American pioneer, bravely breaking ground in a new land. It captures the spirit of a time gone by - yet has the excellence one expects from a contemporary knifemaker.
The blade has a long, graceful clip point shaping nearly three quarters of the spine. This pulls the weight out of the blade and creates an aggressive point. A convex grind ensures a very strong edge. The blade has been clay tempered resulting in a distinctive hamon (heat treatment line). This type of heat treatment means the knife keeps an astonishingly hard and keen edge while the spine remains supple and supportive.
The handle is formed from a single piece of European stag antler, including the crown. It features rich, dramatic tones of warm black, burnt sienna and ecru, with a sculpted wrought iron spacer. The guard and butt cap are also forged from wrought iron, and have been hammer finished for a texture that complements the stag perfectly. A lanyard loop completes the handle. The knife is well balanced and is very comfortable and secure in the hand.
Excellent fit and finish throughout with a great balance and timeless soul.
