Description: Anders specializes in combining Japanese techniques with those of his native Sweden. Anders uses a traditional Japanese method of heat treating a blade that involves coating the spine of the knife in clay. This results in the dramatic hamon (temper line) as well as creating a knife with superior edge-holding ability. The repetitive wave (gunome) pattern of the heat treatment line (hamon) is particularly well developed and shows off Anders's skill at its best. The hamon is balanced perfectly between a high plunge grind line and the blade edge, and follows the blade's gentle curve. The spine has a gentle upsweep with a central arched ridge, or mune.
The handle is formed from stabilized and dyed spalted birch. The fit between blade and copper bolster is seamless, as is the fit between handle and bolster. A copper pin and countersunk copper lanyard hole complete the handle to the same high standard.
The knife is accompanied by a single seamed traditional Swedish leather sheath. The hardened leather is fully tooled and dyed an elegant variegated brown. It is finished with a braided leather belt loop. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
