Description: This singular dagger takes its name from the meticulously enameled wooden sheath, which is ornamented with a highly detailed green dragon. Along the top of the sheath, a second, more stylized knotwork dragon playfully gazes downward. This is Australian artist Carol Ann O'Connor's work at its finest!
Both the sheath and handle are constructed from Australian lace casuarina wood. This wood has distinctive medullary rays and fine even texture with straight grain. The lace pattern only occurs in about 1 of 100 trees making this art dagger as rare as it is beautiful.
The dagger ground blade is formed from Odin's Eye pattern Damasteel stainless damascus. By hollow grinding the edges and leaving a long central flat, Brodziak reveals two of the unique patterns held within the Damasteel.
Both the guard and pommel are formed from 416 stainless steel and have been meticulously engraved by New South Wales artist Richard Chapman. Richard and David have been collaborating together for over ten years and their styles complement each other well.
Excellent fit and finish throughout on a particularly captivating knife!
