Description: André Thorburn created this new mechanism in the spring of 2009. Knifemakers frequently struggle with a way to remove thumb studs from their knives. Not only do they get in the way, but faster opening can often be found with different mechanisms. This new mechanism is exceptional. The blade is easily opened by running either the thumb or first finger along the textured 'roll' at the back of the blade.
The 12C27 stainless steel blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. It has been meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. The scales combine black and orange G10. Rather than using three separate pieces, Andre created the Micarta handle and inlaid the central section with G10. This results in very strong scales that are set on blue anodized titanium liners. Exceptional fit throughout. Perfectly centered blade with smooth action. Accompanied by certificate from the maker.
