Description: South African knifemaker Andre van Heerden creates an amazing gent's folder -- and at a price that could never be found from an American maker.
The upswept blade was formed from damascus by Ettoré Gianferarri. Gianferarri makes his damascus in very small quantities. His patterns are very complex and show tremendous skill. Geometric patterns throughout the steel have virtually no distortion. The blade has silky-smooth action and is well centered between gold anodized titanium liners.
The scales are formed from 416 stainless steel and have been meticulously hand engraved by Helene van Wyk in floral scroll. 18kt gold inlays add depth to the detailed engraving. Exhibition grade white lip mother of pearl inlays have a full spectrum flash and a shimmering underlying texture. The inlay is perfectly performed in complex arcs. An engraved escutcheon is inlaid into each side. The stainless scales sit on anodized titanium liners. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
