Description: Canadian knifemaker Alain Desaulniers' work is meticulously performed. Alain has had the opportunity to work with renowned knifemaker John Young, who in turn worked under Steve Johnson. The influence of both Young and Johnson is clearly visible in Desaulniers' work. This, matched with his attention to detail, makes for an exceptional knife.
The stainless steel blade was hollow ground to accentuate the dramatic grind lines. The guard is also formed from ATS-34 stainless steel. The full tang assures a durable construction. A distal taper to both blade and tang results in perfect balance. Red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The handle has been nicely shaped for a very comfortable, secure grip. Exceptional work throughout.
