Description: The handle on this tanto is very traditional, with undyed ray skin and silver dragon menuki. The ray skin gives this knife an excellent fit in the hand and highlights the reason for the menuki, which is to fill the space in the palm of the hand when holding the knife. The blade is clay tempered using a traditional Japanese method which imparts a much harder edge for superior sharpness, while leaving the spine softer for support. This knife was photographed by Joe Kertzman for the cover of Knives 2003, which will be out in the late fall of 2002.
