Description: Corrie designs a spectacular folder and pays attention to every detail. His knives have unique appearance and feel, combining rare materials such as mammoth ivory and meteorite.
The Damascus used on this boot ground blade was forged by Ettoré Gianferarri in South Africa. It is made in extremely small runs. Highly complex mosaic Damascus nicely highlights the boot grind.
The fossil mammoth scales have been carved into arched terraces and meet in an elegant arc to meteorite bolsters. The Muonionalusta meteorite was originally found in 1906 near Kiruna, Sweden. Muonionalusta meteorites are very rarely found on the meteorite market and even less frequently found on knives as the strewn field is within the Arctic Circle, making searching for it very difficult. The crystalline patterns revealed on the bolsters are known as "Widmanstatten patterns". These patterns can only form in the vacuum of space. The large metallic crystals require millions of years of cooling to form from a molten planetary core fragment. It has been estimated that it took about 1000 years for these molten pieces of planetary core to cool by just 1 degree Celsius!
Blue anodized and fileworked titanium liners surround the stainless steel backbar. A satin finished overlay rests between scales and the liners. Both the backbar and spine have been hand fileworked. The interior of the liners have been mirror polished. A citrine gemstone is set in the backbar and thumb stud. Exceptional work throughout.
